Coca Cola Plant in Indianapolis

Coca Cola Plant in Indianapolis

This former Coca Cola Plant is on Massachusetts Avenue, just a few blocks past its hoppin’ stretch. The buildings are now used to house school buses for Indianapolis Public Schools and, once IPS gets a new bus facility, these structures will be redeveloped. Hopefully, all the Art Deco goodness will remain intact.

  1. Another wonderful Coca Cola building is off of Dana Ave. in Evanston/North Avondale Cincinnati. It is now owned by Xavier University and is used as the Alumni Center. The buildings entrance is beautiful art deco design.

  2. We drove past that a couple weekends ago, I wanted to turn around and get a picture but was tired and cranky by that time.
The entry doors remind me of Cincinnati Bell downtown.

  3. someone needs to make living spaces out of that. don’t know if it’d be possible with zoning and such. but dang. that would be awesome. and at the north end of mass ave. it’d be a great location.

  4. Yes! I’d gladly carve a cozy home out of this compound, with a little patio set on the loading dock. I love that this stretch of Mass. Ave. is centrally located but off the beaten path, too.

  5. It is planned for redevelopment as residential with retail along mass avenue with new infill in the parking lot last I heard.

Another small but great retail building is in the 400 block of Mass Ave. It is a ceramic brick building and has some wonderful terra cotta artwork on its facade.
