It’s the first day of Advent, so let’s check out these adorable Advent calendars by Nouveau Designs, one focusing on Brooklyn and the other depicting Amsterdam. The only thing that would make these sweeter would be if they were filled with chocolates!
Here’s a thought — how about merging the above aesthetic and Advent theme with the Anthropologie 2010 calendar? You’d have a village of 24 buildings, and the door to one building would open on each day of Advent. The whole installation could be placed beneath a Christmas tree, with a Lionel train going around it. Who wants to try this?
These are too much! I absolutely adore both of these designs! Thank you so much for sharing them.
I love the Amsterdam calendar! Advent calendars are so much fun.
Maya, I like your idea of merging the designs. I just read yesterday that during December, many of the villages in the mountains of Austria and Germany celebrate Advent by turning their towns into a walkable Advent Calendar and the homes decorate windows in a Christmas theme. Each day a new home/business is lit up in preparation for Christmas.
So sort of your idea…walkable.
These are really pretty. I would like to make one someday before Dec. 1 rolls around but it always sneaks up so fast. I did buy a fun lego advent calendar for my step-son though. He adores legos!
Kathy, I love the “real world Advent calendar” idea, but only as long as you get chocolate every time you open a door.
er….Maya…that’s Halloween 🙂
Touché!
