Ann Toebbe was born in Cincinnati, educated in Cleveland, NYC, New Haven, and Germany, is now living in Chicago. Her work, rendered from memories of her Midwestern upbringing, mythologizes domestic life and its accoutrements, without including people. A few of her paintings are available as prints via 20×200.
Toebbe’s work reminds me a bit of Darra Crosby, whose mixed media pieces got a lukewarm reception here.
