Amy Casey was born in Erie, PA and now lives in Cleveland, OH, where she creates gorgeous, haunting paintings of cityscapes featuring intricately detailed houses and buildings. These fantastic constructions seem to be always in flux — the ground beneath the structures moving, the houses suspended with delicate strings, the entire environment depicted in a precarious state that perfectly represents the precarious state of the recent housing market.
Amy, if you ever end up illustrating Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, I’ll buy a copy for each of my friends.
Wow, very neat. So many ones I like! ‘Between Cities’ is the one I first reponded to but the last three are all good.
Great post, really love the paintings, thanks for sharing! nx
Dan, maybe you should add one of these to your growing art collection?
I should have mentioned that I discovered this artist’s work last week — it accompanies an article in the NYT entitled Home for Life.
Wow! Back to the drawing baord for me. This is Kool!
