Lotta Nieminen was born and raised in Helsinki and now lives in NYC, where she works as a graphic designer at RoAndCo, and as an illustrator for clients including United Airlines and Businessweek. In her work, a retro color palette meets crisp execution of simple maps and bird’s eye views of cities.

Like Bench Around the Lake by Jeppe Hein, Eden II by Tea Mäkipää is a recently commissioned and installed work located in 100 Acres, the just-opened sculpture park at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It’s a two-part installation: the ship in the water and the guard house nearby.

Helsinki-based graphic designer/illustrator Janine Rewell studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and at RISD and now creates lovely [and silly!] illustrations for magazines, events, and packaging. Her work reminds me a bit of another Finnish illustrator — Sanna Annukka.
