The Brooklyn-based designer Aymie Spitzer has created Neighborwoods, a series of maps that are drawn by hand and then laser-engraved into unfinished aromatic cedar. Here are Brooklyn, Philadelphia, London, Barcelona, and Paris.

Crown Fountain by Jaume Plensa

Designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, the Crown Fountain is located in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. Videos of city residents are projected on two 50-foot tall towers that look like small Modernist buildings, but which are actually fountains, with the faces acting as contemporary gargoyles.

Fernando Volken Togni is an illustrator based in Porto Alegre, Brazil, who recently completed a series of awesome illustrations for Oryx, the in-flight magazine of Qatar Airlines. Each image represents 24 hours in a city, including New York City, Melbourne, Phuket, and others.
