Scott Williams is a NYC-based artist and educator who has been using chance as a determining factor for the subjects of his oil on panel paintings.
For this series of plein air paintings, Williams gridded out a map of Brooklyn and Queens and determined the locations to be painted by throwing out lettered and numbered coins, resulting in these landscapes:
