Hive (Bleecker Street) by Leo Villareal is a massive, animated LED installation on the ceiling inside the Bleecker St./Lafayette St. subway station in Manhattan.

The installation is programmed so that parts light up in different colors, seemingly moving across the ceiling.

  1. Alice, this is an interesting installation because it really forces you to stop and watch for a while, which people tend not to do in subway stations. It’s a lovely experience.
