Joyce Kaufman is a Cincinnati-based mosaic and mixed-media artist who maintains a studio at Brazee Street Studios. I recently came across her work at MiCA 12/v in Over-the-Rhine.
These mosaics are approximately postcard-sized and depict local landmarks past and present. Above is the Italian restaurant Scotti’s, still going strong at 100 years old. Below is Maisonette, which was the most highly rated restaurant in North America until it closed in 2005:
