Don't Crankshaft Co. Ghost Sign in Over-the-Rhine

The ghost signage for Don’s Crankshaft Co. is an Over-the-Rhine icon, almost at the level of the [recently bastardized] Cincinnati Color Company and the haphazard glory of the old Smitty’s [which is still in business a block from its former location]. “Racing” is in motion, OMG!

As the signs above specify, the formal entrance to Don’s was at 122 East Liberty St., but the above signs are around the corner on East McMicken. Below is the lone Liberty presence:

According to Recapturist, the building is scheduled to become a “sustainable & energy-efficient community space (including a play area for the Boy’s & Girl’s Club) with 2 apartments located above.”
