City Dwellers by Mark Hadjipateras

City Dwellers (for Costas and Maro) by Mark Hadjipateras is a series of glass mosaics located in the 28th St. subway station in NYC. The cartoonish images reference the nearby Flatiron Building and Toy Center, as well as the flower, fur, and garment districts.

Mark Hadjipateras is a sculptor, painter, printmaker, and photographer who was educated in London and Liverpool. These mosaics were installed in 2002 and inspired a more recent series of sculptures by the artist.
