Imperial Theatre Ghost Sign in Over-the-Rhine

Imperial Theatre Ghost Sign in Over-the-Rhine

For a while, the old Imperial Theatre at 282 McMicken Ave. in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati was a porn theater and burlesque venue, and then later a neighborhood church and a furniture store. When neighbors suggest that there ought to be an independent movie theater around here, this is the place that comes to mind.

This building is currently on the market, so you can get a peek at the interior and its pretty details.

Over the past few years, this humble blog has amassed quite the collection of photos of old theaters all over the US. For more, check out the KiMo Theater in Albuquerque, Village Theatre in Chicago, United Palace Theater in Manhattan, Lensic Theater in Santa Fe, Loew’s Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, and the Chicago Theater [guess where it is]. In the Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati, there is also a similar-looking crown on the marquee of an old theater whose name I don’t know.
