Broadway Diary by Tim Snell

Tim Snell is a NYC-based artist with experience in mosaic work, such as Broadway Diary in the 8th Street subway station. The 40 circular mosaic “portholes” depict both historic icons and everyday scenes from the neighborhood.

Neighborhood subjects include the Washington Arch, Grace Church, Cooper Union, and the Astor Place Cube by Tony Rosenthal. People are shown doing day-to-day things like bicycling and skateboarding. The dog walker below is in the process of losing his hat to the wind:
