CoSign Identity and Collateral Materials by VisuaLingual

CoSign Call to Artists + Designers

CoSign is a brand-new initiative that will enhance economic activity in Greater Cincinnati neighborhood business districts, beginning with Northside. The program pairs artists, small businesses, and professional sign fabricators to design and install unique handcrafted signage for local retailers. VL’s own Michael developed the identity and is designing all the collateral materials for this program.

Interested Cincinnati-area artists and designers are invited to attend a mandatory informational workshop at the American Sign Museum, 1330 Monmouth St., on either 2 Aug or 9 Aug [this or next Thursday] 5:30-7:30pm.

The finished signs will be installed in mid-November and revealed to the public on 23 Nov, a.k.a. Black Friday, with a morning celebration to kick off the busiest shopping day of the year.

CoSign is a partnership between the American Sign Museum, the Haile/U.S. Bank Foundation and Cincinnati’s Northside Community. For complete details, contact the organizers at cosigncincy [at] gmail [dot] com.

  1. This is downright fantastic! The projects you all are involved with are so inspiring. I hope you won’t mind me telling everyone about this project. It would be so great if some of the organizations in Dayton could do something similar. We do look up to our big sister city after all

  2. Feel free to spread the word! I think the plan is for this project to continue in other neighborhoods, so I’m sure it will get even better with each iteration. This is the first time anything like this has happened, at least around here.

There are a lot of really cool things happening in Cincinnati, including plenty that have nothing to do with us at all. This project just happens to combine many of our interests and passions. I can’t wait to see the results!

  3. Thanks for posting this. I read it at work a couple of hours before the first meeting and decided to go. I’ve decided to participate and submit a couple of sign designs. Wish me luck : )
