Intersection, a public art piece by Mikell Fine Iles, Heidy Garay and Sam Vernon, is located on Front St. in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn. Its simple, graphic design is inspired by intersecting subway lines on an MTA map.

The backdrop is a corrugated metal fence. Since the piece was executed on panels painted in a studio and installed on the site, and since it’s framed like a painting hanging on the fence, is it considered a mural or not?
