This poster series is for the Architectural League’s Urban Omnibus, part of the Festival of Ideas for the New City, taking place this week in NYC. It was designed by the Civic Center in a style reminiscent of vintage advertising.
The goal of the Festival of Ideas for the New City is to harness the power of the creative community to imagine the future city and explore the ideas destined to shape it. It is a platform for artists, writers, architects, engineers, designers, urban farmers, planners, and thought leaders to exchange ideas, propose solutions, and invite the public to participate.
Urban Omnibus, an initiative of the Architectural League of New York, is a showcase of good ideas for the future of cities, conceived in the public interest and tried and tested in the five boroughs of New York. See the full list of these 50 ideas here, where you can also contribute your own.
This poster series was created by Candy Chang and James Reeves, with illustrations by Kristina Kassem, working under the umbrella of the New Orleans-based Civic Center.
Interesting ideas, but few could be implemented, and I think none actually would be.
