Taizo Yamamoto is an architect based in Vancouver, British Columbia, whose portfolio includes several series of drawings. My favorite series is Hedges, shown here.
The menacing quality of these drawings reminds me of the work of Luke Painter, a fellow Canadian. Yamamoto lives and practices in Vancouver and, when I visited that city, the one thing that really struck me was the abundance of tall hedges bordering [and obscuring] many residential properties. What gives, Canada?
