The legacy of architect Samuel Hannaford runs deep in Cincinnati. From City Hall to the Cincinnatian Hotel, from the Emery Theatre to Music Hall, his firm was commissioned to design many of the most prominent buildings in the city. The Dalton Street Post Office, located at Dalton and Liberty Sts. in the West End, dates from 1932-33.

Installed in 2003, Losing My Marbles by Lisa Dinhofer is a glass mosaic installation on several walls of the 42nd St.-Port Authority Bus Terminal subway station. The main wall features a gold trompe l’oeil frame surrounding a black and white tiled floor that serves as the backdrop for the marbles, which seem to be rolling toward the viewer.

The Old Town area of Santa Fe is filled with adobe-style architecture, much of it featuring areas of patterned tile. So pretty! Its winding, narrow streets were obviously laid out before the advent of the car, and the patterned details are a great pedestrian-level surprise when wandering around.
