Happy New Year! Let’s start off 2013 with sandwiches! Chicago-based Kelly Pratt has an ongoing food-and-place-and-photography project called Stately Sandwiches, which entails researching, creating, photographing and eating sandwiches for all 50 US states. So, Kentucky gets the hot brown above, New York gets the reuben, etc.

As each state sandwich is created, Kelly posts the recipe, and prints are slowly being made available for purchase.
I realize it’s not your call, but New York really shouldn’t get the Rueben. It’s generally recognized that the Reuben was invented in… Omaha, Nebraska.
Whoa, what? I’ll have to look into this. So, what should NY get? A bagel with lox?
