Patterned Tile in Santa Fe

The Old Town area of Santa Fe is filled with adobe-style architecture, much of it featuring areas of patterned tile. So pretty! Its winding, narrow streets were obviously laid out before the advent of the car, and the patterned details are a great pedestrian-level surprise when wandering around.

While on the Great American Road Trip, we visited both Taos and Santa Fe. Both places had been described to us as charming tourist traps. Whereas Taos quickly turned us off with its kitschy, cheesy wares, many of which were obviously not locally produced, Santa Fe really did charm us, and I wanted to spend more time exploring the fine crafts in all the galleries. I would definitely love to return to Santa Fe at some point.
