Hidden in plain sight! This is a heavily degraded, large ghost sign found on Court St. between Vine and Race Sts. in downtown Cincinnati. I can’t make out the top part, where the brand would be, but the bottom clearly says “extra six-cord.”
As far as I’ve been able to research, extra six cord spool cotton was a type of sewing thread manufactured by several companies including Willimatic and Kerr & Co. Was this a sign for one of those brands?

Isn’t that a great feeling, finding one so brilliant like that?
I always thought it said “corn”, but my pictures aren’t so good. Nice that the grafitti below was covered up.
It’s most definitely “cord,” though I can’t figure out that brand. Yes, this was a fun find! I must have walked past it 100 times before I even noticed it, and then the light was always wrong for a decent photo, so I had to remember to keep walking by at different times. That can be a bit annoying!
