The old S&W Cafeteria building at 56 Patton Ave. in downtown Asheville is now an upscale restaurant called S&W Steak & Wine. In a town that seems filled with Art Deco architecture, this building is a gem, its façade covered in blue and gold geometric patterns.

To some, this set of six coasters depicts Vine Street as it runs through downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine. To others, this is an abstract coffee table puzzle that can be arranged in countless ways. This is a pretty typical terrazzo ghost sign, featuring chunky sans type and a color palette of speckled black and white with minty green and salmon accents [plus some urban filth, of course]. Spotted on Hamilton Ave. in Cincinnati’s Northside neighborhood.

I spotted this ghost tile announcing Eagles Home in a doorway at 75 Broadway in Asheville, NC. Below, I broke my own rule of only catching these phenomena in their “natural” habitat and moved the leaves to get a better look at the letters.
