Shannon Rankin lives in Rangeley, ME and creates collages, drawings and installations using cut and folded maps. The results might resemble a quilt, a Fibonacci sequence, an anatomical drawing, or a map of an imaginary location.

M,
I know U luv maps….
U’d dig LoCurto/Outcault
http://www.locurto-outcault.com/index.html
who map the human body in 2D & 3D.
I used to live in Lilla/Bill’s Red Hook, Brooklyn building.
Great stuff. I’d love to see what s/he would do with a bit of Mandelbrot inspiration…
WestEnder, that would be excellent!
Brian, the LoCurto/Outcault is insane; I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking at, but it’s interesting.
This seems a bit light and trite to me. Pretty, yes, but so what?
Hmm, well, it’s an investigation into place and pattern. That’s hardly a cure for cancer, but I certainly wouldn’t call it trite.
