Eleven Heavy Things by Miranda July is a temporary installation in Union Square, originally created for the Venice Biennale. It includes eleven sculptures, which the artist calls photo props, that look a bit like giant white marshmallows.

Our East Coast seed bombs are now available at Green Envy, a boutique located at 223 Goddard Row in Newport, RI, which specializes in “helping people look great and feel great about sustaining the planet,” and which only carries products that are organic, fair trade, or eco-friendly.

Havana-based Los Carpinteros is the art collective of Marco Antonio Castillo Valdés and Dagoberto Rodríguez Sánchez. Free Basket is their recently installed project in 100 Acres, the just-opened sculpture park at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, along with Bench Around the Lake by Jeppe Hein and Eden II by Tea Mäkipää.

An altogether-too-brief trip back to NYC afforded me a few opportunities to see public art I hadn’t before, including this set of 174 bronze sculptures of birds. A Gathering by Walter Martin and Paloma Muñoz is installed all over the Canal Street station’s railings in little groups. It made me do a double take.
