Located in the Prince Street subway station, Carrying On by Janet Zweig in collaboration with Edward del Rosario celebrates the individuality of New Yorkers with 194 unique silhouetted people doing the sorts of mundane things they do — carrying bags, standing, talking, walking together, looking down, etc.
The installation takes up the entire length of the platform, and I had to examine the whole thing to verify that each silhouette is indeed different. The concept and execution are perfectly suited for the 1200-foot long site.
