I’m a bit late on this one, but I just discovered that our Midwest Seed Bombs were featured in the Nov 09 issue of Woman’s Day, in the 7 Stocking Stuffers article. I love the idea of people like our moms coming across our little DIY tool in this magazine.

The mural For a New World graces Holy Covenant United Methodist Church at 925 W. Diversey Pkwy. in Chicago. It was painted in 1973 by John Pitman Weber with assistance from Oscar Martinez, and depicts the three areas of the congregation’s service: Confession, the Word, and the Offering.

The Lebanon-based artist Edie Harper passed away on Saturday at the age of 87. Probably best known as the wife and partner of Charley Harper, Edie’s work was geometric and reductive like Charley’s, but focused around the subjects she preferred — cats, kids, and the Bible.

These subway map shower curtains by Izola include the systems for DC, NYC, Chicago, Boston, and London. If I were living in one of those cities, I would hang the shower curtain backwards, so that I could plan my daily trips while taking my morning shower.
