Insect Bridge by Helen Nodding
Helen Nodding is a London-based artist who has created a series of miniature urban interventions. These Lilliputian structures animate overlooked spaces with a grand sense of fantasy that belies their small stature. These installations are part of her Nature Reserve series; check out Stories from Space for more of Nodding’s work.
Nodding is currently in Melbourne, where she is pursuing a new body of work. Her interventions are reminiscent of Jan Vormann’s work in the cracks of Berlin buildings. It’s guerilla architecture with a sense of humor and an air of anarchy.

Are you familiar with Slinkachu’s work? It is very much in the same vein but a bit less “natural” …he does phenomenal installations in miniature all over London.

I spent many summers of my youth creating vast roadways and bridges in the woods for my Hot Wheels collections. A few of us created small garage homes using sticks covered in leaves and dirt. As well as set up rocks for mock cities. Nice reminder of summers long ago.
