typographic work by Greg Lamarche

Greg Lamarche is a NYC-based artist who participated in the Creative Time project entitled Dreamland Artist Club in Coney Island in 2004. Those site-specific pieces, as well as his works on paper, reveal a strong affinity for vernacular typography.

Above are three Dreamland Artist Club pieces: Coney Island, Balloon Water Race, and Coney Island Museum. Below are three works on paper: EB at Union Turnpike, Junior’s Livin, and Develop, Destroy,.

  1. Very cool – thanks for sharing. Actually, not totally related, but stylistically reminds me of ESPO:

  2. Actually, ESPO was another participant in the Coney Island project, as well as one of the curators.

  3. I just flipped through it again, and yes, there it is on the front page: Steve Powers.

My bad. Sometimes I rip through these things too quickly.

  4. One other link. Lightborne – a mograph studio in OTR – did an ESPO piece some years back. Check it out (“I’m Your Future”):

Anyway, this is all off topic. Again, great post.
