Memorial Hall

Memorial Hall on Elm St. in Over-the-Rhine features amazing interior details. So much inspiration under one roof! John McCain spoke here before the Ohio primary, and I felt inclined to go, just to witness him onstage, beneath the virtue that says “manliness.” There’s a rumor that the county plans to sell the building so that it’ll be developed into condos. I don’t see how that would work, and it would also be a travesty to willingly lose a civic space. Instead, I hope there’s a push for more creative, event-driven uses of the space.

Roebling Bridge

The Roebling Bridge connects Cincinnati and Covington. If it resembles the Brooklyn Bridge, that’s because it was designed by the same engineer using similar principles. The blizzard, with its “level 3 emergency,” afforded a rare opportunity to walk in the middle of the bridge.
